? Gravic
Crew: 18
Batt. Power: 42 (starts at 14)
Batt. Recharge Rate: same as Chmmr Avatar's
Primary Weapon: Rotating Repulsor Beam
Secondary Ability: Rotate Repulsor Beam
Secondary Ability #2: Magneton Bolt

Structure: This ship is bulit from modified parts of various League ships. The main hull is modeled after an Earthling Cruiser's, which significantly reduces its cost, although it cannot hold a large crew. Instead of four weak nacelles, the Gravic uses two large nacelles that comprise 45% of the ship's size. These nacelles are mostly used to thrust and maneuver the craft and also create the repulsor shield that surrounds it. Mounted atop the main hull is a cannon similar to the rotating mortar of the Orz Nemisis; it can swivel in 30 degree incremenents and launch both of its weapons from that cannon.

Weaponry: The Gravic's primary weapon is a repulsor beam that more or less reverses the effect of the Chmmr tractor beam. At long ranges, the effect is barely noticable, but if used at close range, smaller ships will fly backwards. In addition to the repulsor beam, this ship also generates a weak magnetic field that forces back some ships. Both of these weapons vary in strength determined by the range of the enemy, the radial measure between the cannon and the target, the size of the enemy ship, the current velocity of the Gravic and the enemy, and the kind of ship you are fighting (metallic ships, such as the Earthling cruiser, receive more of an effect than a nonmetallic craft, such as a Mycon Podship). If you are traveling with a velocity opposite of your opponent, the repulsor is very effective; this can prevent frontal assaults. However, the weak repulsor shield will not be able to fend off a fast ship, such as the ZoqFotPik Stinger or Androsynth Blazer. Once the Repulsor beam is engaged, the Gravic attains a lock, and can manipulate a ship's movement by rotating its cannon.

The swiveling cannon rotates like an Orz cannon, and controlling it is necessary for a captain to survive. When the special weapon button and fire button are held simultaneously, a Magneton Bolt (named as such to merely intimidate opponents) fires. This bolt does a small amount of damage to its target, but if it connects, even a large ship will have trouble correcting its course. A smaller ship will careen across the battlefield and, if you aimed correctly, will likely crash into a planet, allowing for more damage.

Maneuvering: Aside from being unable to turn while rotating your cannon, maneuvering a Gravic can be quite problematic. The nacelles provide a decent amount of thrust, and turning is fast -- too fast to handle for a novice pilot. Alterations in course must be careful, or else the Gravic will simply run around in circles.

Weapon Stats
Primary Weapon: Repulsor Device
Cost: 1/firing time (very short, same as Chmmr tractor beam)
This device causes the target to be repulsed from the origin, with strength diminishing as range decreases. This weapon will lose efficiency if it is not fired accurately, and will not work if the radial measure between the cannon and the target is greater than 90 degrees.
Secondary Ability: Rotate Cannon
Cost: 0
When combined with left and right motion, the Gravic will rotate its repulsor beam. If you are currently LOCKED onto a target, the target will either suddenly jerk or break from the lock, giving it a slight speed boost.
Secondary Ability #2: Magneton Bolt
Cost: 14 batt.
Firing Rate: Medium
Range: Medium
Damage: 2
A Magneton Bolt has a limited range, but if it connects, an enemy is immediately pushed in the direction of the bolt. While this weapon does minimal damage, it is best used to push a target into a planet, thus causing immense damage.

Captain Names
I can't really say right now, since this ship isn't designed for any race or alliance.

Tactics
Most enemies can outrun you, and even your basic repulsor beam can only last for so long. You will need to use your repulsor to try to force your enemy in front of your cannon, turn him in the proper direction, and fire a magneton bolt to send him careening into a planet. You can also orbit a planet and try to pick off small ships with your magneton bolt. The Gravic is the king of cheap shots, and it beats up smaller, slower ships such as the Earthling Cruiser and Umgah Drone (although the Drone can counteract with it's reverse thrust, turning a disadvantage into an advantage). If you can find an Androsynth foolish enough to leave itself open in normal form without any energy, a small blast can send the fools to their grave with a single bolt. Against larger ships, you'll want to fire cheap shots with your magneton bolts, preferably two or three shots at once. If you can get enough force, say bye bye to the big boys.

Strengths
Small ships can't get close to the ship without being repulsed or bolted. The Gravic can pick on the bottom of the food chain with almost no problem, using its bolts to send enemies careening towards a planet. With a rotating cannon and fast turning rate, nothing can really escape a trained pilot.

Weaknesses
If you are unfortunate enough to be in the line of fire of a large ship with powerful weapons, you are mostly helpless once he fires. The Gravic is not fast enough to be a jitterbug and evade shots like a Spathi, and with its limited crew, it can't survive three fusion bolts from a Dreadnought. The Chmmr Avatar's tractor beam spells certain death.

Quirks
First, the repuslor does not affect the Slylandro Probe. The Magneton Bolt also does not budge the Probe, but it does cause normal damage. This makes the Gravic an easy target for the Slylandro Probe, unless you are able to attain orbit and make cheap shots at the probe. The magneton bolt pierces through Ur-Quan fighters and destroys Orz marines and Chenjesu DOGIs.
